Cute Stories

Alright, some fun stories of the kids to share…

We had a birthday card sitting on the table for Grandpa Ray that we were getting ready to send, and because of that, we discovered that Colette is now capable of climbing all the way up onto our kitchen table. We found her exactly as you see, sitting up there, drawing with a pen on Grandpa’s card – she just wanted to wish him “Happy Birthday” herself! :) We always have to remember to keep the chairs pushed all the way in at the table now…

The other night after having pizza for dinner, I told the kids to come into the kitchen and get washed up before they could go play. Samuel came walking in, held up his hands for me to see, and said, “I not dirty, Mom – see.” And this is what I saw… :)

Funny guy – always making us laugh!

Well, this past Sunday was our ward’s Primary Program in Sacrament Meeting, and Brielle’s first time participating in one, of course – which she has been so excited about – and she did so good!! On our drive to church that morning, she was being so serious and dramatic, singing along with the primary songs we had playing, and she told me she was practicing because everyone was going to be looking at her singing… :) During the program, she was the first to jump up every time it was time for a song, and without fail, would look down at us each time with the hugest grin, and just wave and wave until we smiled and waved back. She was just so excited… And then it came time for her class’ turn to do their parts. As she went to take her place in line, Jared and I got a kick out of her slight hesitation passing the microphone, and the look she gave, as though she were considering the option of saying something into it. We could tell she was definitely contemplating the idea. :) But she was a good girl, and waited her turn. Now, I know I’m a biased mother here, but she did SO good on her part! :) It was only a few sentences, of course, but she had it all memorized, and didn’t forget even when she was up in front of everyone. I’ve been telling her all week to talk slowly so everyone could understand her, well she definitely said each word of her part slowly! But it was so cute because you really could understand what she was saying – her part was, “My favorite thing to do with my family is Family Home Evening. I love to learn with them, and play games & have treats together.” And that big old grin of hers – she just loves being in the spotlight… She definitely got a few chuckles out of the congregation – she was cute! Anyway, I know I just wrote way too much – way too proud a mom, I know! :) But we had so much fun watching our first child in a Primary Program!
